Will sanctions stop Iran's nuclear programme?
US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has announced a new series of sanctions against Iran to try to persuade Tehran to stop its nuclear programme.
Some 22 Iranian government agencies, three state-owned banks and individuals are being blacklisted as the US steps up its efforts to squeeze Iran out of the international banking system.
America accuses the Iranians of supporting global terrorism and working to develop an atomic bomb and the White House sees Iran as the single greatest challenge to US security.
Are sanctions the way forward? Do you think these sanctions will persuade Tehran to stop its nuclear programme? Are there other ways of dealing with the situation?
