A Quick Look at Year-End Milestones
We reached quite a few project milestones in a busy fourth quarter of 2006. Interest in the project and support from the community have played an important part in our progress.
*
Design review completed
In October, we had our final meeting with the Queen Anne/Magnolia Design Review Board (DRB). At the end of the meeting, all board members voted to recommend that the city approve our design plans and permit application.
*
Land use decision issued and property transferred
In November, the City of Seattle Department of Planning and Development issued its Master Phased Development Land Use Decision to allow us to build the campus over 15 years. The city also officially transferred property ownership to the foundation's affiliate, IRIS Holdings, LLC.
*
Continued neighborhood involvement
Throughout the fall we met with many local organizations, including the Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce, Queen Anne Community Council, Seattle Center Resident Directors, South Lake Union Friends and Neighbors, and Uptown Alliance.
We appreciate the feedback from those groups, members of our Community Advisory Group, and all Queen Anne neighbors and businesses.
Looking Ahead to 2007
Groundbreaking on the Seattle Center Fifth Avenue North Parking Garage is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2007. You can stay up to speed on construction activities on and around the site by reading Sellen's Construction Bulletins.
We look forward to working with the city and the community throughout the new year.
Happy Holidays!
