In most cases, you can’t trust polls far as you can throw them, as they are routinely used to foist propaganda and nonsense upon the unwitting, or rather the intellectually lazy and incurious.

However, there is absolutely no propaganda value for the criminal neocons when a large number of people believe “the Bush administration is hiding something” in regard to the attacks of nine eleven.

Of course, it does not take a rocket scientist to figure this out, even though we now have Fox News pundits calling for the FBI to tail nine eleven researchers. If the overt fascist tactics of Bill “phone sex” O’Reilly, the moral derelict and psychopathic bully, demonstrate anything, it is that the neocons are petrified of nine eleven truth, now emerging from the shadows.

“Many adults in the United States believe the current federal government has not been completely forthcoming on the issue of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, according to a poll by the New York Times and CBS News. 53 per cent of respondents think the Bush administration is hiding something, and 28 per cent believe it is lying,” reports Angus Reid. “Only 16 per cent of respondents say the government headed by U.S. president George W. Bush is telling the truth on what it knew prior to the terrorist attacks, down five points since May 2002.”

First and foremost, it is rather pathetic that millions of people would tolerate a president who tells lies, especially in regard to something as horrific as nine eleven and the invasion of Iraq, where more than a half million people have died violently over the last three years. It is heartening to know nearly 30 percent of Americans realize Bush and his neocon handlers are liars. But that said, it is disheartening to realize they are either unwilling or incapable of doing anything about it.

Second, the wording of the poll is, to say the least, insufficient. It is not specified what Bush and crew are “hiding” exactly. Are they hiding their participation in LIHOP (Let It Happen On Purpose) or MIHOP (Made It Happen On Purpose)? If the former, the September criminals may be chalked up as merely incompetent buffoons, incapable of stopping Osama and his dour cave-dwelling Muslims with boxcutters. In effect, this posits and strengthens the absurd official version of events, that nineteen hijackers were not only able to take over the planes, but make NORAD stand down and, as well, change the laws of physics. If the second, people should be outraged enough to demand impeachment, criminal proceedings, and execution of the September criminals in the same manner as Nazi war criminals were tried, convicted, and sent to the gallows.

More than likely, considering the inertia and muddledness of the American people, this will never happen. It may require an outside force, such as the Allies taking out Hitler and the Nazi war machine, before the American people realize the magnitude of the crimes committed in their names. Of course, as with the German people, reduced to digging tubers out of the ruins of a devastated Berlin in order to survive, it will be too late by the time the rest of the world, motivated to take out America before it reduces the planet to a smoldering cinder, moves to save the planet from destruction.

If, however, the planet does survive the threat of nuclear Armageddon, it will be a joy to see not only Bush and his neocon henchmen, that is if they have not taken cyanide, as many Nazis did, paraded before an international tribunal. It will also be satisfying too see Bill O’Reilly, effectively no different than the Nazi radio propagandist Hans Fritzsche, led into the proceedings and facing justice.
